Solutions to Your Skin Needs

Dry Skin:

Face mask: Try whipping up a quick face mask with ingredients you have in your kitchen. Using a fork combine equal parts banana, organic honey, and a dash of lemon juice into a bowl. Massage Face mask into your skin and let sit for 10-20 minutes.

Drugstore solution:  MOISTURIZE! A drugstore moisturizer is the Elf Daily Hydration Moisturizer (buy here 8$).

Splurge solution: The Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief is perfect for dry skin. This moisturizer will have your skin glowing in no time (buy here 39$).

Normal Skin:

Face mask: Try making a turmeric face mask to help your skin stay clear. Add 1/8 tsp of ground cinnamon, 1/4 tsp of ground turmeric, and 1/2 tsp of organic honey to 1/2 Tbsp of plain yogurt.

Drugstore solution: Use a light moisturizer with sunscreen to protect your face from harmful sun rays. Try Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (buy here 12.91$).

Splurge solution: Try buying a Clarisonic facial cleaner. This brush will help keep your skin clear and banish any existing acne. You can buy one here for 129$, but there are a lot of off brand facial cleansers that will work just as well.

Combination Skin:

Face mask: Let's be honest, having combination skin is the worst. Going from dry to greasy, or having your face peeling and shiny at the same time is not fun. Simply spraying apple cider vinegar onto your face will help keep the Ph balance of your skin stable. This helps calm your skin down, resulting in less fluctuation between oil and dry skin patches.

Drugstore solution: Try CVS’s Oil-Free Moisturizer for Combination Skin. This moisturizer is a cheaper copy of Neutrogena's Oil-free Moisturizer for Combination Skin (buy here 8.99$).

Splurge solution: First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay is a great option for combination skin. This cosmetic, along with a number of other benefits, reduces excess oil while keeping the skin hydrated (buy here 24$).

Oily Skin:

Face mask: The best Face mask for oily skin contains oatmeal, lemon juice, and honey. Blend or chop the oatmeal into smaller pieces, and then combine the ingredients in equal proportions. After everything is mixed together, let the mixture sit on your face for about 10 minutes, and then wash it off with lukewarm water.

Drugstore solution: If you have oily skin do not moisturize. This will only increase breakouts and shine. Use a cleanser with salicylic acid such as St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub (buy here 2.69$).

Splurge solution: This pricy solution is not a cleanser or a moisturizer, it's a primer. Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Foundation Primer keeps your face gloriously shine-free. The primer lasts all day and blurs large pores while keeping your makeup in place (buy here 39$).

Sensitive Skin:

Face mask: Combine natural aloe vera gel with a little bit of coconut oil and honey for a soothing Face mask. This Face mask will moisturize and sooth your skin, while reducing redness and acne scars.

Drugstore solution: Olay’s Regenerist Night Recovery Cream is so moisturizing and soothing to the skin. It contains powerful antioxidants, such as vitamin E and green-tea extract. This cream will keep your skin from breaking out, calm any redness that has occurred, and help reduce fine lines (buy here 11.39$).
