Liz Kleppinger, Freshman
The past few months I've dreamt of nothing but mint green, nice corals, baby blues, pastel pinks, and light lilacs filling the halls of Emmaus High School. I would look out the windows of EHS to find the lilies and tulips all in bloom, filling the air with their lovely soft scents.
Now it's April 1 and, thankfully, the snow is finally gone (finger's crossed I don't jinx it) and flowers are happily replacing it.
But flowers aren't the only things blooming this season. As always, spring style is blooming and buzzing with floral prints. And you know, it goes without saying-- April showers bring May flowers.
Back in January, Paris Couture Week brought us the scoop on trending prints and styles. The Chanel couture show was filled with vibrant colors and textured floral prints. Now trust me, I know none of us Emmaus High socialites have thousands of dollars to put into high fashion Chanel pieces, but that doesn’t mean we can’t keep up with the latest trends. We'll just have to do it on a budget.
One of the greatest low-cost lines for girly floral prints is the Lauren Conrad Collection at Kohls. Yes, this is the same Lauren Conrad from MTV’s "The Hills" and who wrote "Style." Her collection is fairly priced and incorporates Conrad’s personal style, which is fabulous. If you have ever looked at her Instagram you would know how much she loves springtime fashion, so if you are running low on #OOTD inspo, definitely check it out.
I am sure that we will all be seeing floral prints sported by the girls of Emmaus, but what about the guys?
Imagine a nice pair of pastel shorts with a floral button up. I love seeing boys getting in the spirit of spring, cause who doesn't like a guy who actually keeps up with up with the trends? But I'll save that topic for another story.
This spring, let's all get into the spirit and 'spring' into fashion.
