Summer’s almost here. That means camping, road trips, and flights across the Atlantic. Wherever you’re headed this summer, I’ve packed a virtual makeup bag with everything you’ll need to keep your skin hydrated, your eye makeup in place, and your time in front of the mirror quick.
Long days (on a plane or the beach) will tire you and your skin out. A light rejuvenating moisturizer will not only keep your skin looking fresh and shiny, it’ll also lock in moisture the whole day without causing breakouts, which are harder to deal with when you’re living out of a suitcase.
Matte BB Cream
Lighter than foundation, it still gives amazing coverage without the weight. Try a shade or two darker if you’re going someplace warm to match your tan.
Translucent is best in case your skin color changes. This is something good to pack in your beach bag or purse during the day for quick touch-ups if your skin gets a little oily.
They keep the sweat and shine at a minimum during the day. They’ll also take some of the dirt and oil off your face to decrease the chance of breakouts.
Pencil is better for travel in many ways-- it’s easier and quicker to apply, it looks a lot more natural for the summertime, and it’s easy to pack anywhere. Brown pencil eyeliner is perfect against sun-kissed skin, and if you want to step outside the box, go bold with a gold pencil to make your eyes pop.
Repeat after me: Waterproof! It won’t budge all day, and will last you through the long plane ride, sweat, and the waves.
Something with shimmer will give you a summer goddess glow, even if you’re jet-lagged.
Tinted lip balm is the way to go. Easy to apply and reapply, it gives color without the hassle. Dab some along your cheekbones and blend and you’ve got yourself a blush too!
The golden rule: Keep it light. Less is always more when it comes to travel, and with products that can double, you’ll conserve space. Have fun, be confident, and keep your carry-on tiny. Safe travels!
