Disclaimer: I’m reviewing just the nail salon, not the actual spa. I’m in highschool, I can’t afford to be going to a spa. I rarely even get my nails done, maybe a couple times a year at most. Because of this fact, when I do get them done, they better come out perfect.
Since it is homecoming season, I decided to treat myself to an acrylic manicure. For those of you who do not know what acrylics are, they’re basically just fake nails. You can get them with regular nail polish or gel polish, and I decided on regular nail polish. I’d heard a lot of my friends say that Secret Nails in Emmaus does a good job with nails, so I decided it was time to check it out myself.
When I first walked in, I thought it would be a long wait because there were a lot of women there, but I’ve gotta give ‘em an A+ on the fact that I actually only had to wait about five minutes after entering the establishment, despite all the business. I sat down in front of Melissa, the lovely lady who did my nails/salon owner, and I must say she did an amazing job. This was my first time getting acrylics, and I’m very happy with how they came out (see pictures below).
I wasn’t entirely sure how the acrylic process worked, so I just sat back, relaxed, and let her do her thing. I was so relaxed, I may or may not have fallen asleep once or twice during the process.
As far as the atmosphere goes, I would give that an A+ as well. It was clean as can be. It was quiet, even though there were a lot of customers there, which is exactly what I look for in a salon. Clean, relaxing, quiet-- what more could you ask for?
The prices were fair as well. The price of my acrylics was $25, which I did not mind spending considering how well they came out, especially since I got them done for a special occasion. A basic manicure there is $12, which is an awesome deal. A gel manicure costs $25, the same cost as the acrylics-- totally fair as well.
Overall, I suggest all you beautiful readers go to Secret Nails & Spa.
